According to the paper quality, there are corrugated cardboard boxes, single-layer cardboard boxes and so on. There are three or five layers commonly used in cartons. Seven layers are seldom used. Each layer is divided into lining paper, corrugated paper, core paper and facial paper. Face paper has tea board paper, kraft paper and corrugated paper for core paper. The color and handle of all kinds of paper are different, and the paper produced by different manufacturers (color, handle) is also different. Corrugated cardboard with different corrugated shapes has different functions. Even with the same quality of face paper and lining paper, the performance of the corrugated board is different due to the difference of the corrugated shape. Their technical indicators and requirements are shown in Table 1. Corrugated cardboard made of type A corrugated board has better cushioning property and certain elasticity, followed by type C corrugated board and type A corrugated board. But stiffness and impact resistance are better than A-type corrugates; B-type corrugates are arranged densely, the surface of corrugated cardboard is flat, the pressure is high, and it is suitable for printing; E-type corrugates show its rigidity and strength because of its thin and dense.
When producing and manufacturing corrugated cartons, they are generally distinguished according to the type of cartons.
The box structure of corrugated cartons is generally adopted in the international standard of international carton type developed jointly by the European Federation of Corrugated Carton Manufacturers (FEFCO) and the Swiss Cardboard Association (ASSCO). This standard has been approved by the International Corrugated Board Association for international use. According to the international standard of carton type, carton structure can be divided into two categories: basic type and combination type.
The basic type is the basic type of box. There are legends in the standard. Generally, it is expressed by four digits. The first two represent the type of box, and the second two represent the different types of carton in the same type of box. For example: 02 for slotted cartons; 03 for nested cartons, etc. The combination type is the combination of the basic type, that is, composed of more than two basic box types, expressed by multiple groups of four digits or codes. For example, the top cover of a carton can be 0204 and the bottom cover 0215.
With the popularity of fine commodities, more and more cartons are made of white board, which is more and more closely related to printing. At the same time, it also promotes the development of computer graphic design.
China's national standard GB6543-86 refers to the international box type standard series, which stipulates the basic box types of single and double corrugated cartons for transport and packaging.
However, in the late 1980s, with the change of distribution channels and market sales forms, a number of non-standard corrugated cartons with novel structures emerged. With the birth of each new structure, almost a corresponding full-automatic packaging system or packaging equipment came out, which greatly enriched the application market of cartons.
